Make A Plan

As announced at our recent national conference, the AFA is embarking on an advertising campaign called “Make a Plan” (MAP).

MAP will make the general public aware of the work we do, not only for our clients, but for our community.

Australia has an “under insurance crisis”. This was well documented in the recent reports on the Victorian bush fires where many lost there lives.

Tens of millions of dollars was paid out on general insurance but only a few hundred thousand was paid out on life insurance.

This is just one example of how the AFA MAP campaign can project awareness and assist our community.

We, as an industry, have never told our story the way we want it told. MAP will do this!

This is a very exciting time for the AFA. Our association, with the help and financial support of member’s dealer group’s life companies and fund managers will combine our knowledge and resources to commence our awareness campaign in July 2011.

The MAP campaign will be heard on Radio, seen on TV, viewed in magazines and will pop up in electronic media.

The AFA committee driving this campaign on your behalf needs your help. We need you, as members, to dig deep into your pockets to assist in the funding.

We are implementing 5 categories of support and we hope that you will rally with us.

The categories and contributions levels are as follows -

  • Diamond - $10,000
  • Platinum - $7,000
  • Gold - $5,000
  • Silver - $3,000
  • Bronze - $1,500

It is imperative that we all understand that this is an investment for our industry, for our businesses and for our future.

To help you budget with your contribution, you can pay monthly via credit card from now till July 2011.

Your Committee will be meeting with Dealer Groups and company management in the up coming months to gain and ensure their support and financial backing.

As I mentioned at the AFA conference “we, the members, must raise at least $500,000 of the $2,500,000 needed to kick off MAP in July 2011.”

I am sure many of you have already read the press articles complementing us on this initiative.

This AFA initiative has pulled our industry colleagues together to show case the wonderful work we do, for and with, our clients. We are real people advising thousands of our clients face to face each week, not only in the insurance field but also in the investment arena.

We pay out the mortgage when someone dies, we put food on the table when someone gets disabled, and we put into place the retirement dreams of our clients. This is what Make a Plan is all about. It will show case and give awareness to what stands us apart, how we sincerely care about our clients, how we take time to listen and how we individually tailor insurance and investment plans on a personal basis.
