Michelle Taylor, Director/ Senior Adviser, Build Financial Solutions shares why her family both make her proud and are her greatest inspiration, why Turkey is her favourite holiday destination, plus her big hairy audacious goal for 2019-20, which is to finish her post-graduate diploma!
- Why financial advice?
It makes sense right!!? We are the only profession that covers so many aspects of a person’s life. The real difference that we can make cannot be truly measured in just dollar terms, it’s so much more than that!2. What are you most proud of?
My family…it’s a bit cliché I know but I can’t help it. We have 2 boys
who are turning 17 and 20 and I have to say that they are just awesome young men (who I can occasionally strangle!). We really enjoy their company and their journey into adulthood!
3. Who inspires you?
It’s no-one famous actually, it’s my Nana. She passed away in 2013 aged 91. She was a quiet, tiny, round woman who had a wicked sense of humour and she went through life taking what it dealt her with gratefulness and humility. She often said, “my life is full!”
4. Favourite holiday destination?
I visited Fethiye, Turkey for a while in the 90’s it was the most amazingly beautiful place. I would love to go back there. But basically, anywhere on holidays is BLISS!
5. Your big hairy audacious goal for 2019?
To finish my post-graduate diploma.
6. Early or late tech adopter?
Hmm. I would love to say early, however, I am a mid–late adopter. I love technology, but it’s not too keen on me (according to my IT guy!!). I tend to get a little overwhelmed by it all, so I concentrate on mastering new technology a little bit at a time.
7. Your most recent ‘high-five’ moment?
Completing the HBF Run for a Reason for the first time…and now I have just joined the ‘Bloody Long Walk’ – a 35km walk for Mitochondria Disease…this one may need some training for…haha!
