Meet Our Guest Speakers
RUSSELL COLLINS Dip LI, OAM
Russell operated as a Financial Adviser specialising in the risk insurance from the time, he entered the Financial Services Industry in February 1971 until his retirement as an Adviser on 30 June 2010. He has been a member of the internationally prestigious Million Dollar Round Table since 1972 and has spoken at that elite conference on six separate occasions, the most recent being at Vancouver in 2016. For over four decades he has spoken at numerous AFA Seminars and National Conferences and is a Life Member of the Association.
In 2004 Russell set up Risk Insurance Communication Skills – a specific business for training, coaching and mentoring new and existing advisers in the “soft skills” area for both the Personal and Business Owner Markets. To this day he continues to speak at various industry engagements and works with a number of advisers mentoring them in both mastering communications with their clients and providing long lasting relationships underpinned by Risk Insurance. In 2015 he published a book – “Skills That Succeed – A Communication Guide for Risk-Based Financial Advisers”, the first book of its type in Australia. He has since recorded the book as an audiobook which was released late 2020 and available from his website address: rics.com.au
Sam joined the Financial Services industry over 15 years ago, most of which has been as a self-employed Adviser. Sam’s and the teams at Perera Crowther Financial services and Econ Insurance Services pride themselves on designing quality insurance solutions and drafting high end strategic plans for their individual and business clients. Having joined the AFA Board in 2019, Sam is currently the Vice President. He has given evidence before parliamentary committees, has authored many submissions and is a keen contributor to the financial services industry, specifically in policy and regulatory matters.
