What are the benefits of AFA membership?
The most important benefit of AFA membership is using the AFA brand as the mark of your professionalism. By displaying the AFA brand, clients will know that you have committed to quality advice and abide by the association's Code of Conduct: Principles of Practice.
AFA membership also gives you a voice of advocacy with Government and regulators as well as opportunities to get involved in a vibrant professional community through policy and practitioner committees and the AFA Communities of Practice.
The AFA’s vibrant professional development community, Campus AFA, gives members opportunities for ongoing professional development as well as more formal learning toward professional designations.
AFA members receive numerous additional benefits, such as discounted event registrations, a quarterly magazine, access to member only online content, mentoring programs and access to a network of like-minded professionals. Find out more.
I don't know which member category I belong in?
The AFA has seven categories of membership including a category for retired practitioners. Click here to find out which find out which membership catergory is most applicable to you.
What happens after I apply to join?
- search of ASIC's registers
- referees being contacted
You will be notified of the outcome of your application and should you be successful, a 'New Member Pack' containing your membership certificate will be posted.
I've just joined the AFA but I can't access member services?
You will be unable to access online content or receive event discounts and other member services until your membership is approved. However, if you have an event you do want to register for, or require immediate access to online resources, you can contact AFA Head Office, and we can assist you.
