AFA News 12 May 2022. Earlier this week, ASIC released new information for new entrants who wish to sit the exam. To be eligible to sit the exam you must be either:
- a new financial adviser
- or an existing adviser (eligible for the exam extension up until 30 September 2022)
If you are a new financial adviser, your Licensee must apply for an exam eligibility number through the ASIC regulatory portal. Licensees need to apply for the eligibility number through the ASIC before the new adviser makes a booking to sit the exam.
In addition, ASIC has confirmed that licensees are no longer required to notify ASIC of the professional year arrangement between the licensee and a new financial adviser. The first point of notification is when they need to seek to register for the exam.
