AFA announces new format for AFA Connect Tour

 

SYDNEY: 9 February 2018 – The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has announced a new and refreshed format for the AFA Connect Tour (the Tour) which will now feature different live programs in each Australian state.

 
“We are very excited to be able to offer our members a new approach to this year’s Connect Tour program,” said AFA CEO Philip Kewin. “Our professional development programs are focused on getting the balance right between technical skills and knowledge and how they are practically applied and we believe the new Tour program is reflective of that approach.”

 
The Tour will kick off in Sydney on 14 February with the 2018 Finology Summit Where investing meets investors in association with PortfolioConstruction Forum, while programs in other states will bring together all the AFA’s Communities of Practice, including AFA Genxt, AFA Inspire, AFA Practitioners, AFA Leaders Forum and AFA Foundation.
 
The Finology Summit in Sydney will feature an international faculty of experts covering various aspects of finology, with particular focus on the practical tools of how advisers can better connect with their clients. It will also showcase the AFA’s recent White Paper, A new advice competency framework and provide practical insights from some of the AFA's 2017 award-winning advisers.

 
The Tour in other states will feature strategy, policy and advocacy updates from the AFA, along with insights from the AFA’s 2017 award-winning advisers. Participants will also engage in a one-hour session from US-based Amy Florian, CEO Corgenius, presented in association with CommInsure. Amy was one of the highest-rated speakers from the AFA National Adviser Conference 2017, and she will be providing participants with the skills to help clients make wise decisions in the midst of loss.
 
In mainland states, AFA members will also have the opportunity to register for a separate two-hour Masterclass in emotional transition management with Amy. The Masterclass - Adding heart to the brains of business - will deepen and add to the one-hour session with additional education, Q&A and role play.  


In the spirit of collaboration, the AFA will be making content available to AFA members, including those who are not able to attend.
