On 8 March 2022, ASIC announced the remaining 2022 exam sitting dates to take place in May and July (available for existing advisers who are eligible for the extension to 30 September 2022 and new entrants) and November, being the last exam for the year (available for provisional advisers, completing the Professional Year).
Existing advisers were required to pass the exam by 1 January 2022, however, an extension has been made available for those who had previously had at least two failed attempts at the exam. These existing advisers have until 30 September 2022 to re-sit and pass the exam in order to remain authorised.
Any individual, who was not registered on the ASIC FAR between 1 January 2016 and 1 January 2019, is considered a new entrant and must complete an approved degree, undertake the Professional Year program and pass the exam.
