AFA News 10 December 2021. On Tuesday 7 December 2021, ASIC launched their Adviser Hub, which is a new webpage that brings together all of their content that is relevant to licensees and financial advisers.
This is one of the outcomes from the ASIC Consultation Paper 332 project on Promoting access to affordable advice for consumers’. It has often been said that it is difficult to find what you need on the ASIC website. This helps by putting it all in one place.
The Adviser Hub includes pages on the following:
- How ASIC regulates financial advice
- Your obligations when giving financial advice
- Educational requirements
- Running a financial advice business
- ASIC guidance (which includes all the Regulatory Guides)
- Registers
- Connecting with Industry (which describes how they consult with the Advice profession).
There is no question that there is a lot of material here. Undoubtedly the study that advisers have done as part of the FASEA education requirements will have made them more familiar with some of this content, however it is always useful to have a site to go to in order to access important information relevant to financial advice.
Members are encouraged to have a look at the site and to familiarise themselves with what is available. We welcome this initiative, which we think is part of the solution for reducing regulatory uncertainty and improving business efficiency.
For any questions on the Adviser Hub, please email policy@afa.asn.au.
