AFA News 5 August 2021. On Tuesday 3 August 2021, the AFA ran a webinar as part of our Hall of Fame series with an interview with former AFA CEO Richard Klipin. Richard is now the CEO of the FSC in New Zealand and is based in Auckland.
During the course of the interview, Richard spoke about when he first took on the role at the AFA, and how he worked with the many volunteers across the AFA to build the AFA Community and to introduce a range of initiatives, including National Roadshows and the Genxt community to develop the financial advisers of the future.
Richard also spoke about the Global Financial Crisis, the Ripoll Inquiry and the increasing importance of advocacy and working with each side of politics. He also reflected on the time when the current Secretary-General of the OECD, Mathias Cormann, did a Roadshow with the AFA.
He also discussed the celebrations in 2011 for the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the AFA and the book that was prepared at that time, which provided a very interesting reflection upon the history of the AFA. Please click here for a copy of the AFA’s 65th Anniversary Book.
