Still I Rise Foundation

At the QLD AFA Practitioner Roadshow in July, a local charity was invited to address the 250 or so advisers on the work of the charity and how their donations from the event can greatly assist. Lachy Macdonald introduced Daniel George to the AFA QLD community. Daniel is an AMP Adviser running his own business and at 6’ 8”, is an ex pro basketball player from the NBL. When he claimed on his Comminsure Trauma and IP claim in 2012, his life changed forever; he saw a gap in services offered for cancer patients. The lack of emotional support and counselling available to both patients and their carers post physical recovery period drove him to create the Still I Rise Foundation”. Through Daniel's presentation $8,935 was raised which will equate to 99 counselling sessions!

The Still I Rise Foundation is run by a number of volunteers meaning every cent raised goes to fund the services the charity provides.

Thanks to the support of the AFA community 99 cancer patients and their families have been helped. Congratulations! An amazing effort.
